The basement construction has a receptacle (3) arranged in a ship deck (1), where the retainer has a guide channel (18) with a longitudinal hole in a cover correlated to the ship transverse axis. An adjustable and lockable holding element such as a screw is inserted in the longitudinal hole with the guide channel at a distance to a measuring edge. The measuring edge is connected with a corresponding counter element arranged in torsion-resistant manner in the retainer and is attached on the holding element.
