METHOD OF DRYING HONEYCOMB MOLDING, AND DRYING APPARATUS THEREFOR

A method of drying a honeycomb molding, and drying apparatus therefor, with which a honeycomb molding can be dried within a shortened period of time while inhibiting any occurrence of defects, such as deformation and breakage. The drying method comprises carrying out passage of a superheated steam, or a mixed gas consisting of steam and heated air, having the humidity thereof regulated so as to realize a wet-bulb temperature of 70°C or higher through the cells of honeycomb molding, thereby drying the honeycomb molding. The drying apparatus is honeycomb molding drying apparatus (10) comprising steam supply unit (12) for supply of superheated steam (A); buffer chamber (14) for rectification of the superheated steam (A) supplied from the steam supply unit (12); superior chamber (16) for arranging of honeycomb molding (18), provided superior to the buffer chamber (14); and hood unit (20) for recovery of the superheated steam (A) having passed through the honeycomb molding (18).
