A system and a method for performing searching based on a sentence, and a computer-readable recording medium storing a program thereof are provided to increase perfection of a search result by providing the search result including the sentence received from a user when the user inputs a query including the sentence and meaning is found among sequence of words included in the sentence. A query determiner(16) determines whether a first query received from a user(14a-14n) is a sentence query. A query preprocessor(18) generates a second query by receiving the first query from the query determiner and processing the first query when the first query is the sentence query. A searcher(22) searches a search database(24) based on the second query, which is created by a second query generator(21), to create a search result corresponding to the second query. A search result provider(26) provides the search result to the user. The query preprocessor includes an index extractor(19) extracting an index from the first query and assigning an index number to the extracted index based on a predetermined rule, an index list(20) recording the extracted index with the index number, and the second query generator generating the second query by using the index recorded in the index list.
