A modified polyester polyol resin composition, and a paint composition containing the resin composition for a golf ball are provided to improve drying property, flexibility, impact resistance, adhesion, solvent resistance and weather resistance. A modified polyester polyol resin composition comprises 10-30 parts by weight of a phenol-based resin; 10-30 parts by weight of a caprolactone polyol resin; 25-50 parts by weight of a saturated dibasic acid or an unsaturated dibasic acid; and 20-30 parts by weight of a polyvalent alcohol. A paint composition comprises 50-90 parts by weight of the modified polyester polyol resin composition; 1-5 parts by weight of an additive comprising a surfactant and a whitening agent; and 10-50 parts by weight of a solvent.
