<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise information display system capable of appropriately managing POP devices of different display forms, and a display control method for the merchandise information display system, and a program. <P>SOLUTION: The merchandise information display system 1 includes a host device 3 for integrally managing merchandise information including a list price 83 of merchandise for sale and additional information to be additionally displayed together with the list price 83, and an electronic display device 2 composed of an electronic shelf label device 6 for displaying the merchandise information according to a command from the host device 3, and a POP device either of a variable display form for changeably displaying the additional information based on a command from the host device 3 or of a fixed display format for fixedly displaying the additional information which can not be rewritten based on a command from the host device 3.
