PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a phenomenon of generating a false color in a high luminance part image. SOLUTION: A filter element on a color filter 16f has R, G or B, and a light receiving element of a CCD imager 16 is covered with the filter element. The saturation level of a raw image signal outputted from the CCD imager 16 is different between a normal mode and a long time mode, and a CPU 36 refers to an optimum exposure time and selects a normal mode or a long time mode. A driver 18b reads the raw image signal generated in the CCD imager 16 in a drive mode selected by the CPU 36. A VGA 22 amplifies the raw image signal outputted from the CCD imager 16 by a gain different between the normal mode and the long time mode, and matches the maximum level of a G signal with the maximum value of the dynamic range of an A-D converter 26.
