PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce or eliminate electromagnetic interference by electromagnetically shielding a portable X-ray detector. SOLUTION: In this invention, the portable X-ray detector is electromagnetically shielded (52). A method of the invention in another aspect includes steps of: detecting electromagnetic interference in relation to the portable X-ray detector; and urging a user to intentionally electromagnetically shield the portable X-ray detector when detecting electromagnetic interference. In addition, in still another aspect of the invention, the portable X-ray detector includes an X-ray detection member, and an electromagnetic interference shielding member arranged to at least partially electromagnetically shield the X-ray detection member, and detachable by a user.
