PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply fluid well from a fluid reservoir to a fluid ejection head in a so-called on-carriage type fluid ejector where the fluid reservoir such as an ink cartridge is arranged on the carriage. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 7 is constituted to have an airtight containing space 73, and an ink pack 71 storing ink is contained in the containing space 73. A pump 8 is operated in response to movement of a carriage 6 and the pressure in the containing space 73 is raised by feeding air thereto. Since ink in the ink pack 71 can be fed out surely to the recording head 5 side, the ink can be prevented effectively from being left in the ink pack 71 and the ink is consumed without waste.
