PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus enabling a user to set colors of a character region in accordance with the intention of the user. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus is provided with: a first preview control section 81 for causing a touch panel 3 to display a preview image 31 based on original image data 60; a character region extracting section 82 for extracting a character region from the original image data 60; a color designation accepting section 83 for accepting the setting of designated colors as colors to be newly set into the character region extracted by the character region extracting section 82; a second preview control section 85 for changing the colors of the character region in the preview image 31 into the designated colors and causing the touch panel 3 to display the character region; a determined instruction accepting section 87 for accepting a decided instruction; and a color changing processing section 84 for changing the colors of the character region into designated colors accepted by the color designation accepting section 83 in color information 66 indicating the color image data 61 when the decided instruction is accepted by the decided instruction accepting section 87.
