PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for the separation and concentration of particles, the system achieving high throughput by continuous flow. SOLUTION: The system is equipped with devices 22, 24, 26, 28 having inlets (32, 34, 36, and 38, respectively), chambers (62, 64, 66, and 68, respectively) and outlets (42, 44, 46, and 48, respectively), being operable to receive a fluid at the inlet and capturing particles of a specific size range from the fluid by maintaining a vortex flow in the chamber and expelling the fluid from the chamber through the outlet and arranged in a cascade state.
