PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for insulation which is free from inducing the enlargement of the diameter of an electric wire or a cable or reduction of flexibility, can reduce the static capacitance of an insulator, has a low dielectric constant and is rich in flexibility. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the resin composition for insulating comprising (a) an olefin-based copolymer rubber containing at least 70 wt.% of ethylene, (b) a non-aromatic rubber softener, for example, comprising at least 60 wt.% of a paraffin-based hydrocarbon and 0-40 wt.% of a naphthene-based hydrocarbon, and the sum of the paraffin-based hydrocarbon and the naphthene-based hydrocarbon is at least 98 wt.%.
