PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a free leg reduced in manufacturing cost by minimizing the number of members. SOLUTION: This free leg comprises a body bracket 7 having a fitting part 11 fitted to the lower end of a strut 4 and a horizontal through hole 12; a ground contact base 8 having a pair of vertical wall parts 13, 13; a free bracket 9 having a spherical pivot part 15 in which a shaft hole 22 having the axis G extending through the spherical center part is formed and fitted into the horizontal through hole 12 of the body bracket 7; and a pivot shaft 10 supported on both vertical wall parts 13, 13 of the ground contact base 8. With the free bracket 9 fitted into the horizontal through hole 12 of the body bracket 7, the lower half part 7b of the body bracket 7 is inserted between the both vertical wall parts 13, 13 of the ground contact base 8. The shaft hole 22 of the free bracket 9 is extended from one vertical wall part 13 of the ground contact base 8 through the shaft hole 22 of the free bracket 9, and installed on the other vertical wall part 13.
