PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight oil tank for sewing machine for accumulating oil to be supplied to the driving section of a sewing machine body including the shuttle driving section, which can effectively remove impurities contained in the oil such as iron powder. SOLUTION: A returning slot 21 for collecting oil 9 which returns from the shuttle driving section and a discharging slot 19 for discharging the oil accumulated inside a tank body 23 towards the shuttle driving section are provided to the airtight tank body 23. A filter 41 for filtering the oil 9 is placed inside the tank body 23 and a permanent magnet 44 is installed at the bottom of the tank body 23.
