AGRICULTURAL COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A mobile agricultural vehicle including a frame (60), a motor (62) carried by the frame (60), a standalone data processing assembly (12), a sensor (58) and a plug-in card (22). The standalone data processing assembly (12) has a data interface (20) but is without communications capability. The standalone data processing assembly (12) is mounted to the frame (60). The sensor (58) is coupled to the standalone data processing assembly, the sensor generating a signal that is used by the standalone data processing assembly (12). The plug-in card (22) interfaces with the data interface 20 and has a processor (30), a memory (26) and a network interface device (28). The memory (26) is accessible by the processor (30) and by the standalone data processing assembly (12). The network interface (28) device transmits and receives information, the information being accessed in the memory (26) by the processor (30) transparent to the standalone data processing assembly (12).
