<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the labor increase of a maintenance operation required when a transfer server is made complicate. <P>SOLUTION: A medical image transfer system 10 is composed of a plurality of transfer servers 12 for transferring a medical image received from modality 11 to an image server 14 and a control server 16 for controlling each transfer server 12. The transfer server 12 transmits accessory information included in the medical image to the control server 16, and collates the transfer destination of the medical image with the edition processing content of the accessory information corresponding to the transfer destination. A control server 16 determines the transfer destination or edition processing content based on the accessory information received from each transfer server 12, and notifies the transfer server 12 at the request source about the determined transfer destination or the like.
