PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display panel drive circuit capable of achieving simple circuit configuration, by reducing the number of components and capable of achieving power recovery by reducing the loss of power consumption. SOLUTION: The display panel drive circuit is provided with a voltage-clamping part connected to one electrode and the other electrode of a display panel for holding the electrodes of the display panel at fixed potential; a transformer composed of a first winding and a second winding which has polarity reverse with respect to the first winding; a first switching element connected between a first terminal of the first winding of the transformer and a ground line; and a second switching element connected between a first terminal of the second winding of the transformer and the ground line, wherein, the second terminal of the first winding of the transformer is connected to one electrode of the display panel and connected equivalently to the inter-electrode electrostatic capacity of the display panel and the second terminal of the second winding of the transformer is connected to the other electrode of the display panel and connected equivalently to the inter-electrode electrostatic capacity of the display panel.
