SPRAY DEPOSIT FILM, METHOD OF FORMING THE SAME, THERMAL-SPRAYING WIRE MATERIAL, AND CYLINDER BLOCK

A film deposited by arc spraying which is excellent in both of abrasion resistance and machinability; a method of forming the film; a wire material for arc spraying which is for use in forming the film; and a cylinder block having bores whose inner walls are coated with the film deposited by arc spraying. The film deposited by arc spraying comprises iron as the main component, 0.01-0.15 wt.% carbon, and at least 0.12 wt.% nitrogen. The wire material for arc spraying comprises iron as the main component, 0.01-0.2 wt.% carbon, and 0.25-1.7 wt.% silicon. Another embodiment thereof further contains at least 11 wt.% chromium.
