A playback apparatus, a broadcast receiving device, and a computer-readable recording medium are provided to display the actual residual time of broadcast being reproduced even in case commercials included in the broadcast are skipped or played fast. A playback apparatus comprises a recording part for recording a recording file, a specifying unit, a calculating unit, an information producing unit, and a display part(9). The specifying unit specifies a portion of the recording file. The calculating unit calculates playback time by subtracting the playback time of the specified portion from the playback time of the entire recoding file. The information producing unit produces information according to the playback time calculated by the calculating unit. The display part displays a title of the recording file and a summary of the information according to the playback time calculated by the calculating unit.
