A method for connecting coated plates for a lead frame using a rivet machine is provided to carry out continuous plating work by keeping/fixing horizontality between the coated plates and forming holes for connecting the coated plates with rivet machine. A method for connecting coated plates(1,3,5,7) for a lead frame using a rivet machine comprises the steps of: connecting the coated plates in line, keeping horizontality between the coated plates, and fixing the coated plates to prevent the separation of the coated plates; forming holes for connecting the coated plates by a rivet unit; and connecting the rivet unit with the holes to press the rivet unit. The rivet is pressed, using air, to prevent a masking tape from being cut and to prevent a gap between the coated plates.
