A LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND A METHOD FOR DRIVING THE SAME

An LCD device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent reduction of image quality by forming the same parasite capacitance at pixel cells positioned in an edge and a center of an LCD panel. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes an LCD panel(200), and data and gate drivers(DD,GD). The LCD panel includes a first display area having plural first pixel cells, a second display area having plural second pixel cells, and plural gate and data lines for driving the first and second pixel cells. The data driver supplies data having different polarities during the same frame to the first and second pixel cells connected to a first data line, and inverts the polarity of the data supplied to the first and second pixel cells for every frame period. The gate driver drives the gate lines such that the first pixel cells receive data before the second pixel cells during a first frame period and the second pixel cells receive the data before the first pixel cells during a second frame period adjacent to the first frame period.
