Arrangement of operating units of a tag fastener is provided to facilitate repair and replacement of a component by disassembling only a corresponding unit assembly in failure of the component. A body(9) of a tag fastener is divided into three zones. An operating unit of a thread feeding unit(A), an operating unit of a thread contacting unit(C), and an operating unit of a thread holding unit(E) are arranged in the first zone which is inside one side frame(9a) of the body. An operating unit of a thread looping unit(B) and a knotter are arranged in the second zone which is between the other side frame and an inner auxiliary side frame of the body. An operating unit of a knotting unit is arranged in the third zone which is between the other side frame and an outer auxiliary side frame.
