A plasma display panel and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve an adhesion property between two layers by decreasing a concentration difference between first and second materials in an interface between a dielectric layer and a barrier rib. A plasma display panel includes a substrate(171), a dielectric layer(175), and a barrier rib(180). The dielectric layer is formed on the substrate. The barrier rib is adjoined with the dielectric layer. The dielectric layer or the barrier rib has a first or second material with different etching selectivity. The first material has a lower etching selection ratio than the second material. The dielectric layer contains the first material as a main component. The barrier rib contains the second material as the main component.
