<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine authenticity of merchandise using an RFID tag in which a user can write a merchandise identification number. <P>SOLUTION: This forged merchandise detecting system comprises a shipment management server 2 generating shipment data on shipped merchandise 12 when shipping the shipped merchandise 12 fitted with an RFID tag 14 recording a merchandise identification number, and updating a shipment data table 26 associating elements of a merchandise identification number set 34 with elements of a shipment data set 35 so that the shipment data corresponds to the merchandise identification number, and an arrival management server 3 transmitting to the shipment management server 2 a retrieval merchandise identification number recorded in the RFID tag 17 attached to arrival merchandise that has arrived on the arrival date and time. The shipment management server 2 transmits a retrieval result of retrieving the retrieval merchandise identification number from the shipment data table 26 to the arrival management server 3 when receiving the retrieval merchandise identification number from the arrival management server 3.
