PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AhR (allyl hydrocarbon receptor) chimeric protein useful for highly sensitively detecting the toxicity of chemical substances.

SOLUTION: Disclosed is an AhR chimeric protein includes an N-terminal region of an AhR derived from a rat containing bHLH domain and PAS domain, and a C-terminal region of an AhR derived from a mouse containing a transcription activating domain in order from its N-terminal end.
