PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a parking brake device that can soundly brake the travelling wheel simply only by allowing the nails to engage to the wheel-driving chain and can be economically practiced with a reduced number of parts. SOLUTION: In a walking type working machine wherein an operation lever (7) for travelling is set from the rear of the body (1) equipped with the travelling wheel (2) backwards, the rotation power of the engine (E) set on the body is transmitted via the travelling transmission case (8) and the chain case to the travelling wheel (2), a parking brake unit (15) including the engaging nails (16) that are engaged to the wheel-driving chain inside the chain case (9) to stop the rotation of the wheel-driving chain (13), and a switching actuation mechanisms (17, 18) for switching the nails (16) between the state of beeing engaged to the wheel-driving chain (13) and the state of being disengaged is provided.
