PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for stably regenerating a plant body through undifferentiated tissues which can easily be genetically modified by in vitro culture of the tissues of buckwheat. SOLUTION: The complete plant body is regenerated in a short time from an induced adventive embryo, directly or through proliferation by culturing a fragment of a hypocotyl tissue of the buckwheat in a liquid medium obtained by adding auxin and cytokine to carry out the induction of callus and the induction of adventitious buds and the adventive embryo in one step. The auxin is preferably IAA (iodoacetic acid) or NAA (naphthalene acetic acid), and the cytokine is, preferably, BA (benzyladenine). COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
