A video processing apparatus and method are provided to capture the movement of images displayed on a screen of a decision target displayer several times, and obtain a video response curve of the target displayer. An image signal generator(5) supplies a video signal to a decision target displayer(2). A camera(3) captures video displayed on the decision target displayer. A computer controller(4) determines the direction in which user's eyes follow based on data obtained by collecting the video captured by the camera in time series, and integrates the luminance of the captured video over time corresponding to specific times of one frame time according to the direction in which the user's eyes follow to thereby obtain a video response curve of the decision target displayer corresponding to each pixel position of the camera. The camera is fixed with respect to the decision target displayer, and captures an image a plurality of times in an exposed state at time intervals shorter than one frame time of the decision target displayer.
