PURPOSE:To prevent a sheet from wrinkling owing to its curvature as a result of fixation processing by controlling the temperature of a heating means and switching the target temperature of the control automatically according to a paper feed mode set by a paper feed mode switching means. CONSTITUTION:The paper feed mode switching means K0 is provided which controls the temperature of the heating means HT of a fixing device and sets a paper feed mode according to the number of times of the passage of the sheet in the fixing device, and the target temperature of the fixing device is adjusted automatically according to the paper feed mode of the sheet. Then when double-sided copying processing is performed, the roll temperature of the fixing device is set lower in 1st-surface copying processing than usual, but set larger in 2nd-surface copying processing than in the case of the 1st surface. Consequently, even when the fixation processing is performed plural times for one sheet, the sheet is prevented from wrinkling. |
