<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of giving direction property information to a reference picture, and to provide a method of judging a directional property of a reference picture. <P>SOLUTION: For a current block of a picture to be coded, there are provided: a step for obtaining first and second motion vectors of blocks that are adjacent to one of the left, upper, and right upper positions of the current block and are other blocks except the current block; a step that is a step for determining the first and second motion vectors of other blocks by using the first and second motion vectors of other blocks so that the first and second motion vectors of the current block have the same direction as those of other blocks and includes a step for performing a median operation to the first and second motion vectors of other blocks; and a step for determining a direction of a reference picture based on a reference picture index. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
