PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent noise from leaking out of a housing through a supply port, while avoiding increases in the number of the components of an image forming apparatus and man days required to assemble the apparatus. SOLUTION: An opening/closing cover 212 for opening or closing a manual supply port 210 is provided. When the opening/closing cover 212 swings forward in the direction of conveyance of a recording sheet supplied from the manual supply port 210, the manual supply port 210 is opened. When the opening/closing cover 212 swings backward in the direction of the conveyance, the manual supply port 210 is closed. In addition, a light shield plate 224 and an actuator arm 225 are integrated with the opening/closing cover 212. This makes it possible for a sensor 220 to detect the opened state of opening/closing cover 212, thus eliminating the need to separately fit the actuator arm 225 and light shield plate 224.
