ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT, AND FUNCTION SELECTION METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a user's selection of a desired function from many functions of electronic equipment.

SOLUTION: A combination of a guidance message 102a, 103a or 104a and function buttons 102b, 103b or 104b is displayed on a display panel with a touch sensor. A user can touch a desired function button and can instead handwrite a special character, such as "○" (Yes) or "×" (No), as a response to the guidance message 102a. When any special character is handwritten, the function that should be executed is selected in accordance with which guidance message 102a, 103a or 104a has been displayed and which special character has been input. The combination of the guidance message and function button images that should be displayed next is changed in accordance with the selected function.
