CONTACTLESS OPTICAL WRITING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contactless optical writing apparatus which can resolve the problem of deficient power at the time of thermal recording on a thermal recording medium by effectively utilizing power of a laser beam and can realize enhancement of the recording speed. SOLUTION: A single mode laser beam L1output from a single mode semi-conductor laser 2 and a multimode laser beam L2output from a multimode semi-conductor laser 3 are combined with each other by a polarization beam splitter 5. The combined laser beam L3is used by a deflection scanning mechanism 7 to perform main-scanning, and the combined laser beam L3is condensed on a surface of a thermal recording medium 1 by a scanning lens 8.
