<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biological treatment method for sewage including hairs where equipment cost can be reduced, a load on the maintenance operation of screen cleaning can be reduced, and further, biological treatment using a microorganism carrier can be performed similarly to the conventional art. <P>SOLUTION: Sewage passed through pretreatment equipment such as a first settling tank or to be directly made to flow in is made to flow into a reaction tank 1 without being passed through an inflow screen, and is subjected to biological treatment using a microorganism carrier in the reaction tank 1. The water subjected to the biological treatment is passed through a carrier separation screen 5 provided with a passing auxiliary means 6 for hairs, and the biological treatment carrier is separated, but, the hairs are made to flow out to the outside of the tank without being separated.
