PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small slot antenna which can be accommodated easily in a handy terminal and can attain a desired directivity. SOLUTION: In the small slot antenna, an internal element 22 for forming a linear slot is provided in the center on the inside of an external element 21 for forming a slot having a lateral width L1 of aboutλ/4, and a first slot 23a having a clearance of about 1 mm is formed between them. The external element 21 for forming a slot is provided, in the center on the upper side, with a slit 24 having a clearance of about 1 mm. Parasitic elements 25 having a line width of about 1 mm are provided at an interval of about 1 mm on the upper side of the external element 21 for forming a slot, and a second slot 23b is formed between them. The first slot 23a and the second slot 23b are coupled by the slit 24 and its overall length is set equal to about 3/4λ.
