PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable hot-air heater of high durability by improving the cooling efficiency of a furnace, that is, heat exchanging efficiency by devising a cooling structure of a furnace. SOLUTION: This hot-air heater comprises a horizontal casing 2 having an air suction opening 8 at a front end face plate 2a and a hot air outlet 9 a rear end face plate 2b, the cylindrical furnace 3 comprising a burner 6 at its front end and received in the casing 2, a double cylinder-shaped heat exchanging portion 4 disposed around the furnace 3 at an interval, and an air blower 5 mounted to the rear end face plate 2a of the casing 2 while facing the hot air outlet 8. The furnace 3 and the heat exchanging portion 4 are made to communicate with each other at communicating portions 14 disposed at their rear ends, an air discharge opening 15 is formed at the front end of the heat exchanging portion 4, an air passage 13 is formed around the furnace 3 and the heat exchanging portion 4, the rear end face plate 3a of the furnace 3 facing the hot air outlet 9 of the rear end face plate 2a of the casing is projected into a circular conical shape toward the hot air outlet 9, and a guide 18 is formed to guide the air flow channel from the air passage 13 toward the hot air outlet 9.
