PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing application of a DC component to liquid crystal, thereby suppressing generation of flicker on a picture by simple configuration. SOLUTION: First and second scanning signal line drive circuits 410, 420 are arranged on both sides of a display part 500. Scanning signal lines GL(1) to GL(N) on the display part 500 are alternately driven one by one in each horizontal scanning period by the first and second scanning signal line drive circuits 410, 420, and each scanning signal line GL(i) is alternately driven in each one-frame period by the first and second scanning signal line drive circuits 410, 420 (i =1, 2, ..., N). In this case, the potential Vcom of a common electrode is set to a value lowered from source center potential VSdc by (ΔVβp+ΔVβn)/2 corresponding to a pull-in voltage on the center of a screen for instance.
