Electrographic imaging process and electrographic plates utilized therein are provided wherein the photoconductive layer comprises a squaric acid methine dye admixed with a binder or a photoconductive material. The photoconductive layer may also comprise the squaric acid methane dye, a binder and a charge transport material.
