Disclosed are novel PATE-like polynucleotides and polypeptides. Also disclosed are splice-variants resulting in smaller polypeptides comprising five cysteine residues and capable of forming PATE-like polypeptide multimerse. The polyneucleotides of the invention were found to have a surprising expression profile, predominantly in the reproduction system and nervous system. The invention further provides pharmaceutical composition and method for treatment of various diseases, in particular nervous system disorders, more specifically Alzheimer's disease. |
