<p>The roof box (1) has two longitudinal carrier (4) that are arranged on a base (2) parallel to a direction of motion (3) of a motor vehicle. The longitudinal carrier leads its load at a fixing point (5) of the roof box. The longitudinal carrier is formed with inserted nut with a fixing point, particularly by a thumb screw (6) or screw nut. An independent claim is also included for a method for reinforcing a roof box.</p>
