The device (1) has a supply system (4) for supplying split logs of a supply zone and a comminution unit (5). The device is assigned to a discharge for the split log (2), which attains by the discharge in a split log supply. The device is provided directly for a combustion plant and the discharge of the split logs are assigned directly to the combustion chamber.
