ONE-WAY CLUTCH AND PULLEY UNIT WITH BUILT-IN ONE-WAY CLUTCH

A one-way clutch that requires reduced man-hours in the assembly process and has reduced number of parts. The one-way clutch has a bearing (5) for supporting an outer ring (1) and an inner ring (2) so that they can rotate about their axes, sprags (3) disposed between the outer ring (1) and the inner ring (2), retainers (4) for holding the sprags (3), and elastic members (6) for biasing the sprags (3). The bearing (5) is placed only at axial one end of each of the outer and inner rings (1, 2). Cylindrical rollers (10), which are held by the retainers (4), are each disposed at axial the other end of each sprag (3). Consequently, even if either of bearings (5) is eliminated, operation of the one-way clutch is not obstructed by radial loads and moment loads acting on the outer ring (1) and the inner ring (2), and the number of parts and the man-hours in the assembling process can be reduced.
