摘要 An optical module is provided to reduce a distance between a light receiving layer of a light receiving element and a waveguide as much as a substrate thickness of an optical filter by directly forming the optical filter on a circuit board. An optical module includes a circuit board(2) and a waveguide substrate(4). A light receiving element(1) is mounted on the circuit board. A waveguide(3) is formed on the waveguide substrate. The circuit board is made of flexible material and has transmissivity of light with a wavelength received by the light receiving element. A circuit pattern unit(5) is formed on one surface of the circuit board. The light receiving element is mounted on the circuit pattern unit. An optical filter unit(7), which transmits the light with the wavelength received by the light receiving element and reflects light with other wavelengths, is formed on the other surface of the circuit board by stacking a dielectric multi-layer film. The waveguide substrate is connected to the optical filter unit. A light receiving layer(1a) is stacked in a position outside a region of the circuit pattern unit inside the light receiving element. An end of the waveguide of the waveguide substrate is optically connected to the light receiving layer of the light receiving element through the optical filter unit and the circuit board.
