Two current differential relay devices (1) are individually disposed at the individual terminals (3) of a two-terminal transmission line (2), and are connected with each other through two transmission lines (5, 6) so that they transmit/receive electricity quantity data to/from each other thereby to perform current differentiating operations. In the current differential relay devices (1), two transmission means (14) are caused at a normal time through the two transmission lines (5, 6) to perform individual communications, in parallel, with the current differential relay device (1) at the other terminals. The two current differential operation devices (14) are individually connected with the two transmission means (14) thereby to perform the current differentiating operations of the two independent sequences individually for the transmission lines (5, 6). In signal generating means (20), OR means (21) ORs the current-differentiated results of the two sequences, with which sequence operating means (15) generates a trip signal. Thus, it is possible to provide a current differential relay device of high availability and reliability, which can continue a transmission line protecting function without stopping it, even if one of the double transmission lines fails, a signal processing method for the device, and a transmission line protecting system.
