<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell device which sensing a residue of liquid fuel in higher precision. <P>SOLUTION: A control part 29 serially calculates a residue A of the liquid fuel stored inside a fuel container 31. A value calculated one after another is written into a memory device 32 fitted inside a fuel tank 3. With a change with time or the like of the fuel cell device 2 in due consideration, too, a residue of the liquid fuel is calculated. The residue A of the liquid fuel calculated and a possible power generation volume Ptotal are reported to a user by, for example, a display part, or a speaker.
