PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for surely, easily and safely cleaning an aluminum plate without etching the surface of the aluminum plate. SOLUTION: The cleaning method of the aluminum plate or an aluminum alloy plate includes the step of cleaning the surface of the aluminum plate or the aluminum alloy plate with an aqueous solution, wherein the aqueous solution has an oolong-tea extract of 0.02-10 wt.%, a green-tea extract of 0.002-10 wt.% and a chelate agent of 0.005 mol/L or more and a weight ratio x/y of the content x of the oolong-tea extract and the content y of the green-tea extract is in the range of 0.08-25. This method includes the step of rinsing with water of an electric conductivity of 200μS/cm or below and the temperature of 80°C or below after cleaning with the aqueous solution.
