PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin counter allowing easy recognition of counting result. SOLUTION: The coin counter comprises a coin storage section 10 that aligns, stacks and stores coins CN and stores the coins CN in the state where each of the coins CN can be picked out, and a number-of-coins detecting means for detecting an electrical signal according to the number of coins CN stored in the coin storage section 10 in the state where the coins CN are stored in the coin storage section 10. The number-of-coins detecting means typically, includes an electromagnetic induction coil arranged so as to surround the coin storage section 10 in the overlapping direction of the coins CN, and an electronic circuit for detecting voltage applied to the electromagnetic induction coil.
