PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high purity phthalocyanine compound, having less precipitation of impurities and capable of quickly performing the filtration after a reaction even in the case of a large scale production. SOLUTION: This method for producing the phthalocyanine compound, comprising the cyclization reaction of the phthalonitrile compound singly or with a metal compound is provided by performing the cyclization reaction in a mixed solvent of a hydrocarbon-based solvent which may be halogenated and a nitrile-based solvent.
