PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transponder in a tire capable of maintaining high reliability over a long period since liquid matter hardly remains in a case. SOLUTION: The transponder 1 in a tire is mounted via a mounting damper 10 to an inner liner 32 present on the back side of a tread part 31 of the tire 30. The case 7 housing a detection circuit unit 2 of the transponder 1; a transmitting and receiving circuit unit 3; an antenna element 4; and the like has a pair of side walls 7a approximately in a parallel with each other extending along circumferential directions of the tire. Notches 7c for passing air and liquid matter are opposed to the inner space of the case 7 and provided for edge parts of the side walls 7a on the side of the mounting damper 10 (edge parts on one-end sides of the side walls 7a in a height direction and close to the outside in the radial direction of the tire).
