Fuel Additives

The invention provides a fuel additive compound represented by the general formula (I) wherein n is zero or an integer from 1 to 20 and in each succinic acid moiety one of R¹ and R³ is a C₃-C₈₀ internal olefin moiety, and the other of R¹ and R³ is hydrogen. Additive compositions containing such compounds have low viscosity and are useful in increasing the lubricity of middle distillate fuels.
