The device (10) has an interface at an object for detecting an inclination of a roadway, and a computing unit to determine an inclination of a vehicle mirror e.g. exterior rear view mirror (2), based on a change of the inclination of the roadway. An interface is provided at a servo motor (6) for correspondingly adjusting the inclination of the mirror. A storage unit stores an output position of the mirror for adjusting the mirror to the output position during a constant inclination of the roadway for a preset route. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting a vehicle mirror.
